Welcome to our first post!
We've had a busy session so far and have been working on our collaged self portraits, ghost drawings, mythical creatures and monsters with fabric, and today we will be working with clay. Our mission today is to create a creature with clay that is half ourselves and half an animal that we think best describes us. For instance, I may think I am independent and stealth like a cat so I could sculpt myself as a four legged, tailed, furry creature with a human face and hands. Here are some examples:
I have chosen this activity so each student can express their personality in a fun way and we can hopefully learn a bit more about eachother.
And just a reminder that Saturday June 4th is our Art Show! The students will have a full class to get caught up on anything they haven't finished from previous assignments during our class on April 28th and will be able to choose which pieces they would like to put in the show.
Hope everyone has a great week!
